The heart of the home is a warm and inviting living area centred around a pellet stove fireplace. Whether returning from a day on the slopes or spending a quiet evening indoors, it offers a cosy place to gather and unwind.

Adjacent to the living room is a dedicated entertainment room equipped with a Smart TV, Xbox and a selection of board games, providing something for guests of all ages to enjoy after dark.

A large dining area comfortably accommodates the whole group, while the fully equipped kitchen makes it easy to prepare meals, enjoy slow breakfasts, or share memorable dinners together.

Private Natural Onsen

One of Kendama House’s most distinctive features is its private natural onsen (温泉), supplied directly from the Akakura hot spring source.

Bedrooms & Facilities

With five bedrooms spread across the house, Kendama House comfortably accommodates groups of up to 14 guests.

The layout includes one double room, two twin rooms, and two family rooms featuring one double bed and two single beds. Two shower rooms and three toilets help ensure a comfortable stay for larger groups.

Designed for Winter Comfort

Kendama House has been thoughtfully equipped for snowy mountain living.

A heated ski dry room in the basement ensures boots, gloves and outerwear are warm and dry for the following day’s adventures. Outside, a unique heated driveway uses naturally flowing hot spring water beneath the surface to continuously melt snow, making arrivals and departures simple even during heavy snowfall.

The basement garage accommodates one vehicle up to two metres in height, while additional public parking is available just five minutes away on foot.

The ski lifts of Akakura Onsen Ski Area and Akakura Kanko Resort are only a short walk away, while the village’s restaurants, cafés, bars and convenience stores are all within easy reach. Leave the car behind and enjoy everything Akakura has to offer on foot.

Important Information

Please note that the kitchen is currently undergoing a full renovation ahead of the 2026–27 winter season. The upgraded kitchen will include a new electric cooking hob, range hood and dishwasher, providing an even more comfortable experience for future guests.
